Lauren Horton

Lauren first came to Barfield School of Dance in 1998 as a young dancer, and she loved it so much she never left. She has trained in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, and Irish step dancing. At the age of ten, she decided her life would be spent sharing her passion for the art of dance with anyone who had a desire to learn. With 21 years of teaching experience, she firmly believes that one of the greatest privileges is the opportunity to mentor and nurture future artists.

After completing her early dance training at BSD, she continued her dance and business education at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she co-founded the UT dance company, B.O.S.S. She also traveled throughout the country as a coach and competition judge for The Universal Dance Association for several years. She now serves as a dance teacher, choreographer, company coach, and the assistant director at Barfield School of Dance.

When she is not in the studio dancing, she loves navigating the many adventures that accompany raising two young sons along with her husband, Joel.
