Lauren Zachary is a dancer, choreographer and instructor in Middle Tennessee. She has a B.S. in Dance Performance & Choreography from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) where she performed with the pre-professional dance company, MTSU Dance Theatre. In this company, she was chosen to perform in pieces by faculty and guest artists Colleen Barnes, Alia Kache, George Staib, Rebecca Steinburg, and Will Gill. In 2019, Lauren was awarded the MTSU Theatre and Dance Outstanding Student Award and the MTSU Dance Emerging Artist award in 2018. In 2018, she was invited to travel to Moscow, Russia to study dance and perform in the Isadora Duncan Dance Festival.
Before college, Lauren trained for 14 years at Barfield School of Dance and spent 5 years on the competition team earning multiple overall awards and titles. During this time, Lauren also trained with NYCDA, Nashville Ballet, and the Rockettes.
Lauren currently trains in Nashville at Millennium Dance Complex and AREA 54 while teaching and choreographing. She has been working with Barfield School of Dance as an instructor, choreographer, and competition coach for over 8 years. Her choreography has won numerous 1st place awards and her dance “Set Sail” was invited to perform in the Platinum National Dance Competition Duo/Trio Gala Performance. She also won the Creative Artist Award for Lyrical Choreography from Fusion National Dance Competition.
